Walk In Wardrobes Are They Just For The Rich and Famous ?

Walk In Wardrobes – My First Love

My first introduction to a Walk In Wardrobes and Dressing Rooms was from the film Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. There is a scene where she walks into her Oak Dressing Room with wall-to-wall Walk In Wardrobes. The dressing room storage ideas were incredible. In particular a revolving shoe cabinet and clothes presented in a colour co-ordinated fashion. At that very moment the allure of Walk In Wardrobes started and has continued ever since.

For many, dressing rooms are often seen as a luxury item and out of reach for many homes. A few things drive this belief.

Firstly, Walk In Wardrobes are seen in glossy magazines and often featured in celebrities home. All the clothes are folded perfectly and displayed beautifully. In our busy lives, particularly families, this concept seems unreal. Just send one of your children to grab their sports kit and see how quickly your display falls into disarray.

Secondly, many homes simply do not have the space for a separate dressing room.

Therefore, Walk In Wardrobe designers have needed to create stylish storage solutions that are accessible to all. This has been largely achieved as high streets and Internet providers offer poles and shelves to create the style of a Walk in Wardrobe but do those items really create storage space?

If you have bedroom with space to spare then a dressing room is ideal. If however, you are utilizing a small space you will be unlikely to get dressed in the room itself. It will be a Walk In and Walk Out Wardrobe. Kind of defeats the objective don’t you think?

My conclusion is this – I love Walk In Wardrobes. After all, here at Verve Bedrooms we regularly design and install dressing rooms that deliver the WOW factor.

However, if space is a premium opting for floor to ceiling and wall-to-wall wardrobes is likely to give you more storage. You could consider sliding wardrobe doors, which will save you space. Inside you can still have light and airy feel. If you are into poles and shelves and suspended drawers this can still be achieved. However, if that is not your thing why not consider a completely bespoke interior wardrobe design. Getting the internal wardrobe design to meet your lifestyle is what a good bedroom designershould accomplish for you. It is not necessarily more expensive so why not have it the way you want it. Whether you want Walk In Wardrobes or a Fitted Bedroom they should look and feel grand and luxurious.  Bespoke furniture can deliver this time and time again.
